Flashpoint – ION Television Promos

Done in August/September of 2011 to commemorate the addition of Flashpoint to the ION Television line-up. ION has been showing NEW Flashpoint episodes since October 18th, 2011.

At the time of first publish, an actual start date had not been announced.  As the series was likely new to many ION viewers, the first seven graphics were done from that perspective.

Once the October 18 start date had been announced, I was able to include that information in subsequent graphics.  Also, the ‘official’ Flashpoint print logo was made available to me and, naturally, I then butchered it for my own use.  It’s what I do.

A few additional tweaks were also applied – mostly just correcting alignment.  However, I wasn’t necessarily satisfied with how the main text elements sat ‘on the page.’

Eventually, it became clear ION would not in fact start by showing the series from “Scorpio” (episode 1×01) on.  This, of course, made the above series of promos somewhat defunct, as they were designed as introductory graphics with a pre-Season 1 mindset.

I had to include Raf in Series Two — even though this puts him adjacent to the Season 1 team photo — as ION started with Grounded and Shockwave and progressed from there with more Season 4 episodes.  Well, I suppose there’s always Series Three…

  4. I didn’t realize CBS dropped Flashpoint and Ion TV picked it up. Love the show…is there anyway for me to watch the episodes I missed, beginning with the Season 5 premier on October 18th up to the present??? CBS made all episodes available on-line, does ION as well?

    • Two things. 1. While there was a break between CBS and ION, we’re still in Season Four. 2. ION doesn’t put the episodes online but you can get them from iTunes. I believe they’re only $1.99 in the US.
